HHV‑6A not found

HHV‑6A DNA was not detected in this sample. This makes HHV‑6A less likely to be a major contributing factor, though no test can rule out every possibility. Discuss next steps with your clinician.

HHV‑6A DNA was detected in this sample. Share your report with your clinician to discuss what it may mean in your context and whether any follow‑up is appropriate.

Quick questions

It checks for HHV‑6A using menstrual fluid. The lab looks for viral DNA (a PCR-style test). It's built to answer: "Is HHV‑6A showing up in the uterus?"
We ship to all 50 U.S. States. Residents of MA, MD, NY, NJ and RI require provider authorization. If you don't have a doctor, we can help with this.
Usually yes, as long as you can collect enough sample. If your cycles are very irregular or you're not bleeding, you may need to wait until you have a full-flow day.
Day 1 is the day when spotting first occurs. Day 2 is the following day, when flow is typically the highest. Some women still have good flow after Day 2, so if you miss it you may still be able to collect enough fluid. However, If your flow is small, you may have to wait until your next period.
If there's an issue, let us know. We're here to help. We'll probably send you another kit at no cost, but you'll likely have to wait until your next cycle to try again.
